We sit in the dark on our little island. It feels like ten minutes, but when she asks what time it is I realize we've been out here for hours. I realize she might be cold, even if it's July it's still almost one o'clock in the morning. I should have asked earlier, I'm so bad at this boyfriend thing.
"Hey, are you cold?" I ask.
"What? No, I'm fine. You have been keeping me warm, actually." She smiles up at me. Maybe I'm not so bad at this boyfriend thing after all. But just in case:
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, you really are like my little furnace." She looks up at me like she wants to say something, but she stays quiet. I wonder what she wants to ask me, or maybe tell me. If it's advice I could really use it. Some critiquing would be nice too.
